In that case, we achieved a settlement when a software defect caused a printer to claim the printer cartridge was empty when it had an adequate supply of ink. Ten million class members were entitled to receive $45 credit to use towards a purchase at the Epson internet store.
In representing a number of product manufacturers—including Hispanic Air Conditioning and Heating, Inc.—, we have been able to obtain favorable outcomes through summary judgment. We are just as tough in settlement negotiations. One of our clients, Consolidated Industries, Inc., was facing a lawsuit with $7 to $10 million in total damages as part of a $150 million class action suit. Our class action litigation attorneys were able to settle for $500,000 while other defendants were forced to pay more.
